Baggage Handling System for 4 million passengers

HELB installed an Automated Baggage Handling System at the International Airport Zagreb. This job is performed for French manufacturer of mobile systems Alstef, which included the installation of 1,250 meters of BHS system, 32 check-in desks and baggage claim system with automatic sorting.

So dimensioned system, which is 80% pendent thus presents a more complex installation, will be able to accommodate 4 million passengers a year. It was installed by a team of HELB’s fitters where installation deadlines are completely harmonized with the plans of the opening of a new terminal of total worth 243 million euros, by consortium Bouygues Batiment International.

Otherwise collaboration with Alstef had begun during 2014, when was contracted installation work of additional 180 meters BHS system for 4 check-in counter on the existing MZLZ terminal. Contract was awarded in a choice of several suppliers because only the HELB has demonstrated the possible integration of mechanical and electrical installation, which was a pleasant surprise for the client.

In fact, past experience of ALSTEF was that such activities are contracted with two companies: one for mechanical and the other for electrical installation. Due to the well performed work in an “old” terminal ALSTEF contracted job installation of BHS system with HELB on a “new” MZLZ’s terminal. Moreover now is interested in expansion of cooperation for BHS assembly jobs and mobile systems for warehouses worldwide.
